We see from around the corner a figure of a shadow on the ground. We see that the shadow of the substance is a forerunner of the substance itself. We get an idea from the shadow of what is to come. The shadow is not the substance but yet it is a replica of the substance. The shadow points to the substance and lets us know that the substance is what we will see next. When the substance is visible, the shadow did not disappear however the shadow has been fulfilled and better defined. Because of the appearance of its substance, we now understand the shadow in full.
As someone who understands that fulfill does not mean abolish, the substance still walks with its shadow. I would like to submit my understanding that we do not cling to the shadow, for the shadow is a replica of the better thing that came. We cling to the substance itself and celebrate its fulfillment of its shadow. The shadow led the way and prepared us for the arrival, the shadow still teaches us about the substance. The substance and the shadow still walk in harmony until heaven and earth pass away and until the sun no longer cast a shadow for the substance itself will be the only light.
When we keep the commanded feast and Torah, we memorialize and learn from the lessons of Biblical history and its shadow. We also are celebrating Yahshua's fulfillment of how the shadow pointed to Him. These Feast days are a part of His redemptive and revelation plan. They have deep lessons for us still today that we should be applying to our lives. No other worldly holidays can have this affect because their roots are not of our true God YHWH, and they are missing in depth.
1 Corinthians 5:8Therefore, let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with leaven of vice and malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and [untainted] truth.
Colossians 2:17For these rules are only shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ himself is that reality.
